Then he and his men run across a young lad apparently trying to steal the valuables off a dead man. Such a travesty can’t be tolerated!
But the “lad” isn’t a boy at all. The supposed bandit is a tiny sprite of a woman, far too pleasing to the eye for his comfort, and furious at having been called a thief. And then she tries to refuse to travel with him under his protection, claiming she doesn’t need it, doesn’t wish to go in that direction. He has no patience for her foolishness. She will go with him!
This story is a companion novel of "Maggie Mine" by Starla Kaye about Maggie's troubled older brother, but it is also a book that stands on its own!

I have a hard time understanding why anyone would want to write or expect anyone to spend good money on garbage like this. This book is the worst I've read to date. The story could have been good if the writer could have gotten over her spanking issues. Really SPANKING OMG, not just once but every interaction was around spanking. What a joke!
I don't which I found more boring, the story or the charaters. I would not reconmmend this book. The H an H really didn
't seem to have a connection.
Very erotic and well-written, quality was leaps and bounds ahead of most romantic novels. A bit less graphic than others, but the great story made up for it and it still made me swoon throughout. I HIGHLY recommend, especially if you like historical romance.
Companion book to Maggie Mine but can totally stand alone.characters are great, interesting and different plot . Not erotic but a lot of spanking. If you are offended by how women were disciplined in this time period don't bother with this book.
I used to read a lot of Starla Kaye's cowboy romances and she has successfully crossed over. I enjoyed this story very much!
Okay, so I read a lot of books. I tend to be rather picky about them actually. This book wasn't great and it wasn't the worst. It was just okay and I only finished it because I like to finish books I start and books I paid for. The plot was good and had lots of potential. The characters were full of potential too. The writing just glossed over things though and skipped around. You never really had a chance to feel connected. There was a lot of spanking. That doesn't bother me, I read 50 Shades of Grey and actually enjoyed it. I just didn't understand why he felt the need to spank his women. You never got to feel any of the characters emotions. It was just a story line that moved along at a decent pace with a fairly good plot. It was almost completely void of emotion in a story that should have been full of it. I don't recommend this book unless you just want an easy read, with a fairly decent plot, with no emotion whatsoever.
This book has some steam, no doubt about that. I love that in my Highlander Romances. I wish there were more stories geared to adults (Highlander/Historical stories). I don't want Disney.
My only objection to an otherwise very good story, was the sometimes lack of emotion in the telling of the story. I admit I don't want a lot of inner conflict/dialogue, but a little more detail when the two main characters were together. The majority of the emotions came when he was spanking her (which was often). That didn't bother me overly much, maybe that was accepted during the times. Sometimes the story actually read like a report. A bit devoid of emotion.
All in all, I did like the story and would love more Highland Erotica.
